I meditate upon maatangi (kanaka durga) heartily. She is playing upon the diamond studded viiNa. She looks filled with the (charm) vigour of youth; She revels in soft sweet talk; She, the tender bodied, is shining like the blue sparkler.

August was quite an eventful month at the temple with the reopening of Balavihar classes. Record number of kids is attending the classes. Sundaresan and his fellow balavihar teachers deserve special recognition in this regard. The group Saraswathi puja and Vinayaka puja were well attended. The lecture on the Power of Puja by Dr Bhagirath Majmudar, though sparsely attended, evoked a great response from many youngsters. As always, Dr Majmudar connected well with the audience and everyone loved his style and delivery.

The Kuchipudi dance program presented by Yagna Mutnuri was well attended and well received. It was an unusual treat for the audience to witness a scintillating performance of a superb male dancer. Having a live orchestra with stalwart musicians was the icing on the cake. The executive committee of HTA offers their heart felt thanks to Sridhar Potaraju for sponsoring the event to benefit the temple.

There are several programs scheduled for the month of September. Please attend and make them successful.

Sri N. N. Menon has earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Andhra University and is now the leading consultant in Foreign Trade at Cochin. He was very closely associated with H.H.Swami Chinmayananda and gave his heart and soul to the Chinmaya movement. He held a number of offices of the mission at Vizag and Cochin. He is an ardent student of Gita and gives talks on a many spiritual topics. He regularly takes vedanta classes at Chinmaya Mission, Cochin.
